AN: Ooh! Look a new chapter! Oh and look here! There's a huge battle scene! Boy am I spoiling you guys! I'm hoping to get the next chapter done soon. I'm looking forward to the next part.

A furious roar ripped through the air as the Snorlax woke from its slumber. The gigantic Pokémon turned its attention to Storm and began to stomp towards her. Boy did she wish she had backup here.

Hawk had gone to Route 6 in order to train some more, leaving Storm to confront the angry giant alone. She grabbed a random Poke ball from her bag and released the Pokémon inside it. She groaned when the light dispersed to reveal Red Jr. cowering in front of the oncoming Snorlax.

“Okay, let’s do this. Red Jr., use ember!” Storm yelled as the small fire-type closed his eyes tight and launched a flurry of flames at the bigger Pokémon. The Snorlax thundered through the flames and crashed into the Charmander, sending him sprawling.

Gritting her teeth, Strom prepared to call another attack but stopped short when she saw the familiar white glow. It engulfed the small Charmander as he struggled to his feet and faced his opponent defiantly.

“Red Jr.?” she whispered in awe. The sound of running met her ears and a gasp rang through the air but she kept he attention fixed on her Pokémon.

The light left Red Jr. to reveal his evolved form. He was taller now and looked a lot fiercer. His long claws glinted dangerously in the sun and he was a darker colour. He glared up at the Snorlax and growled lowly at him.

“Want to try that again?” he asked in a deeper voice, projecting more confidence than he’d previously shown. The Snorlax ran at him again, Red Jr. looked back at Storm and waited for her to call an attack.

“Red Jr., try ember again!” She called. He smirked and began to spit embers at the Snorlax. This time he stopped short and growled in pain. He glared at the Charmeleon and collapsed slightly to the ground.

“Heh, not bad, looks like you’ve beaten me. Come on then trainer. Catch me.” The Snorlax growled, catching Storm by surprise. She fumbled for a Poke ball and threw it at the large Pokémon. The ball shook once, twice, three times then went still.

Storm retrieved the capsule and looked down at it blankly. The Snorlax had only said one thing to her and he had been growling throughout the entire battle. She didn’t know what it was, but there was something at the back of her mind that told her not to use him, but to hold onto him for a while.

She slipped the capsule into her bag and headed back to town to the Pokémon Centre with Red Jr. at her side.

“Oh, it’s you.” Calem spat as Storm approached Connecting Cave. She rolled her eyes and groaned. Of all the people she had to meet, it had to be him.

“Good to see you too Calem.” She replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm. The teenager grunted in response but grinned when he looked over her shoulder.

“Hey guys!” he called to whoever was approaching them. Storm turned and grinned when she saw Shauna, Trevor and Tierno making their way to the entrance to the cave. The others exchanged their own greetings, but the reunion was cut short by Calem removing a Poke ball from his belt.

“Let’s battle.” He grunted. The others all exchanged confused looks before Tierno spoke up.

“Okay then, how about you and Sensoji battle me and Trev.” He suggested before grabbing his own Poke ball.

“I’m not working with-“ Calem began to protest but was cut off by Storm letting Billy out of his Poke ball.

“Fine with me.” She declared. Billy bleated a challenge and got into a ready stance, lowering his head and tensing his muscles.

“Alright, Pikachu, I need your help!” Trevor called as he let the small electric-type out of its Poke ball.

“Corphish! Let’s show them our moves!” Tierno boomed as he released the water-type onto the field.

Seeing that he was defeated Calem simply grunted and sent out a Fletchling. Storm shot a look at him, wondering why he’d chosen to use a flying-type when there was an electric-type on the field.

“Fletchling! Use quick attack!” Calem ordered. The small bird Pokémon shot forward and crashed into Trevor’s Pikachu. The yellow Pokémon squeaked in surprise but shook the attack off, sending the Fletchling flying back to the other side of the field. Sparks flew off the small Pokémon and it landed clumsily on the ground.

“He’s paralyzed!” Billy bleated in shock. Storm nodded slightly in as she studied the small Pokémon. She turned back to Billy and smiled slightly.

“Billy, use vine whip on Corphish!” she yelled. Billy bleated and launched the vines at the orange Pokémon.

“Corphish, try fighting them off with vice grip!” Tierno ordered. Corphish launched himself forward and began trying to fight off the oncoming vines with his claws. While Billy took care of Corphish, Storm looked over to where Calem had ordered Fletchling to attack Pikachu again.

The flying-type chirped in pain and squeezed his eyes shut as sparks surrounded his body again. A stream of electricity flew toward him and hit him dead on. The poor thing didn’t stand a chance. He fainted easily to the thunder shock.

“Billy, use leech seed!” Storm called, pointing at Pikachu as she did. The Skiddo turned his attention from Corphish, who he had just thrown off, to Pikachu. He sent a small seed flying towards the yellow Pokémon.

The attack worked like a charm and the vines that sprouted from the seed began to snake around the electric-type, sapping some of Pikachu’s health and causing him to stumble.

“Now use vine whip again on Corphish!” she called. Billy sent the vines back at Corphish, who tried to repel them with vice grip again. This time, Billy sent one vine around the front as a decoy and hit the water-type from the back with the other vine.

Corphish went down quickly. Tierno returned him to his Poke ball and sighed. A big smile was still plastered on his face as he turned to Trevor.

“Sorry Trev, I’m out.” He apologized. Trevor nodded and smiled back at the bigger boy.

“It’s fine, I’ve got Frogadire on the ropes.” He relied. Storm turned her attention to the battle between Pikachu and Frogadire, only to see that Calem had managed to get the water-type paralyzed.

“Billy, use vine whip!” she called desperately. The Skiddo bleated in understanding and attacked the electric-type. Pikachu fainted, but left the grass-type paralyzed. Pulling out Billy’s Poke ball, she quickly returned him just as Trevor sent out a Flabebe.

She froze and stared at the small Pokémon. She didn’t know what type it was, was it a grass-type? It sure looked like one, but at the same time it didn’t seem like one. Making a quick decision, she threw Red Jr.’s Poke ball and let the Charmeleon out.

“What’s going on?” he asked. Storm shook her head slightly, trying to let him know that she couldn’t talk to him, not here. He saw Calem and his eyes went wide. He turned his attention to Flabebe and he gulped.

“Red Jr., try using ember!” she called, hoping that he wouldn’t freak out on her again. The Charmeleon closed his eyes tightly and spat embers in a random direction. Flabebe easily dodged that attack and used vine whip on the paralyzed Frogadire.

“Red Jr.! Come on, open your eyes!” Storm called desperate to get him to see what he was doing. The fire-type opened his eyes a little and tried using ember again. This time the attack hit Flabebe. Frogadire followed the attack up with a water pulse, causing the small Pokémon to faint.

Trevor returned the fainted Pokémon and held his hands up in defeat. Calem returned Frogadire and turned to Storm with a fire in his eyes.

“What were you doing!? I thought it was obvious that the best way to win a double battle was to gang up on a single target! Not go off and do your own thing!” he growled at her. Storm rolled her eyes and shared a look with her Charmeleon.

“Excuse me? YOU were the one who was attacking a Pokémon that had an advantage over you! I was handling an easier target first! Also, by ganging up on a certain target, you’re ignoring a potentially dangerous ambush from the other target! Ever think of that?” Storm retaliated before she turned on her heel and headed into Connecting Cave.
Aanndd~! Calem is a jerk.
