AN: Kinda filler, kinda not. I wanted to tie up a few loose ends and get to the bottom of the Unova thing... FOR NOW!

Time seemed to move in slow motion as the two Pokémon collided. The Samurott screeched in pain before collapsing, the faceless, purple haired boy growled in frustration before returning the large Water-type to its Poke ball. He smirked, then turned and ran up the crumbling staircase.

The brown haired girl shared a look with her partner. The Serperior nodded in understanding and the two took off after him. As they ran they began to grow aware of energy gathering at a certain point at the summit of the tower.

“They’re going to wake it up!” the girl cried in despair as she scrambled up the ancient stone steps. The Serperior hissed and gave her a look.

“Don’t worry about that too much. Let’s just focus on getting to our old friend.” She spat, as if she’d swallowed something foul.

“Alright. Let’s go Serpent, we have a friend to avenge.” The girl roared and with renewed strength she dashed to the top of the tower. When she reached her destination she skidded to a halt and her eyes widened in fear. A large, drooling Hydreigon blocked her path, eyeing her hungrily.

She growled and was about to try to dash past it when a green blur dashed past her and began to hack at the large Pokémon with a fierce leaf blade attack. The Dragon-type roared and managed to grab the faster Pokémon with one of its powerful mouths. Serpent cried out in pain and struggled to free herself from the killer grip.

“Serpent!” the girl cried as she ran towards the two Pokémon. The Serperior seemed to have noticed something that she hadn’t and tried to warn her about it, but was smashed against a pillar before she could say anything.

“Finish it.” A voice from the shadows commanded. The Hydriegon didn’t even pause, it simply threw the Grass-type Pokémon at her trainer with enough force to send them both flying through a window and down into the cold, dark water of the lake below.

A sharp slap brought Storm back to her senses. She bolted awake and looked around rapidly for her attacker. The culprit was stood on her chest and was giving her a very intense look. Naru smiled when she calmed down enough for him to see that she was okay and hopped off of her.

“Naru… what happened?” she asked, rubbing her head in the process. The Pancham looked to Guardian. The Absol looked up from where she wastending to Red Jr., she smiled before padding over to her trainer and sitting beside her.

“You were knocked out during the battle.” She explained anxiously. Storm rubbed her sore head and gave the Dark-type a confused look. All she remembered was ordering Guardian to use bite on Shadow’s, or whatever his real name is, Honedge. After that everything was blurry except for the vivid dream that she’d had.

“How?” she asked in a pained voice. Guardian sighed and gave her trainer a concerned look. She shuffled her paws softly before leaning close to the girl’s ear.

“The battle got very intense and you were struck by a rock. I tried to catch Shadow, but he got away. You had a dream, didn’t you? I can tell by the look on your face.” The Absol whispered.

Storm nodded and sighed. She turned to look at the Dark-type, only to see her giving her a very serious look. It seemed that the Absol knew more than she was letting on. Storm gave her Pokémon a questioning look, Guardian sighed and placed a paw on the trainers shoulder and gave her a sympathetic look.

“You’re going to have to tell them.” She murmured with a glance towards the others. Storm followed her gaze to where they were.

Jessie was now tending to Red Jr. and splitting a few Oran Berries between the two of them. Naru was fussing over Billy, the Skiddo still seemed to be a bit out of it, but was now awake and responding to Naru poking his side.

“I don’t know if this is the right time Guardian.” Storm sighed as she watched her team. Guardian shook her head and forced her trainer to look at her.

“No. This is as good a time as any. Jessie told me about your sleep talking. You did the same thing in your past life. The others are worrying about you too. You need to be honest with them. Got it?” Guardian hissed, her voice dripping with authority. Storm gulped and cast her eyes to her team.

Taking a shuddering breath, she eased herself to her feet and stumbled over to where Jessie and Red Jr. were. She knelt near them and smiled slightly. The two Fire-types smiled back but their expressions faltered when they noticed that there was something wrong.

“Hey, can you guys move closer to Naru and Billy? I need to talk to you all and Billy doesn’t look like he’s up to moving.” She asked softly. Red Jr eased himself to his feet and leant on Jessie for support. He gave his trainer a look and the two began to move over to their teammates.

“So, what’s up?” Jessie asked, trying to cut to the chase.

“Where did you get the healing supplies?” Storm asked, trying to put off the inevitable for as long as possible as well as satisfying her own curiosity.

“Naru knows his way around plants, but that’s beside the point. What’s wrong with you?” Jessie asked again, a new fire in his eyes. Storm looked at the ground and fiddled with a few stones.

“Who’s Serpent?” Red Jr. asked suddenly. Storm’s head shot up and she met his confident gaze. He’d grown so much since he’d evolved that it stunned her.

“How did-?”

“You talk in your sleep, this isn’t the first time I’ve heard you.” Naru replied, giving her a stern look. Billy was leaning against him and trying to look alert, despite his lack of energy.

“You can trust us. We know that you’ve mentioned a Serperior in you sleep, so is Serpent that Pokémon?” Billy bleated. Storm was about to shrug, but realized that Serpent was indeed the Serperior that she’d seen in her dreams. The Pokémon had just never had a name put to her face before.

“Yeah… she is.” She replied awkwardly, not knowing where to go from there.

“So, do we need to find this Pokémon or something?” Jessie asked, clearly longing for another adventure after this missing scientist thing was over and done with.

“No… we don’t. She’s dead.” Storm replied, with an almost expressionless voice. Unknown emotions were beginning to well up inside her, and despite the fact that she didn’t know the mystery Pokémon, that didn’t change that fact that in another life, she’d lived and died with her.

“What? H-how do you know that!?” Red Jr. squeaked, his usual fear was now leaching back into his voice.

“BEACUASE I DIED WITH HER!” Storm suddenly burst, the tears finally flowing freely from her eyes.

Her team was silent. They simply watched and tried to comprehend what was happening. Fortunately, Guardian was there to finish the explanation.

“Serpent was one of her partners in a past life, presumably the life before this. Our trainer is here for a reason, but it has yet to be revealed to her. We just need to figure it out.” She explained, giving the other Pokémon a look of extreme authority that dared not be questioned.

“Well, I’m all for figuring this out!” Jessie announced, hopping to his paws and moving closer to his trainer.

“I-I-I… I am too!” Red Jr. stuttered as he followed the Braixen. Billy and Naru shared a look before joining the others.

“You guys don’t have to do this you know.” Storm murmured to them.

“Oh yeah? Well, we’re a team! And that means we need to stick together, no matter what!” Naru declared with a determined look on his face.

“He’s right you know. We’re not going anywhere.” Billy added with a comforting bleat.

“Thanks guys. You have no idea how lucky I feel to have you all.” Storm sniffed. In response Jessie threw his arms around her in a furry, warm hug.

“Hey! Sorry I took so long! I ran into an old friend and that Rhyhorn was pretty nasty!” Hawk’s familiar voice called out. Storm was on her feet in an instant, a feral look in her eyes as she confronted him.

“You have a lot of explaining to do, whoever you are.” She spat while he gave her a sheepish look in response.

AHH!!!!! :la: Yes! More insight into their death! And more secrets to yet be revealed! :XD:

Btw, on the topic of Shadow, was the hydragon his? And does he remember anything about before other than the stuff we discussed via note, or is he as clueless as Storm?
