Soooo... yeah... not too much to say except that I really wasn't very motivated here, so if this chapter sucks then I'm sorry.

Recognition

Getting though Santalune Forest had turned out to be incredibly easy. The Trainers that had challenged Storm had only had fairly low levelled Pokémon who were easily beaten by Jessie, Water Ship and Yellow. Shauna had proven that she wasn’t completely hopeless and had saved Storm many trips back and forth to heal her Pokémon.

The two of them were approaching the exit, Storm actually couldn’t wait to get to Santalune City so that she could finally get some time to hopefully sleep. The day had turned to late afternoon and she was even more exhausted than usual.

With the exit in sight she began to pick up the pace, eager to get out of the forest and go her own way. Shauna however, had other ideas. She grabbed Storms grey bag and held her back, before she could leave.

Calem, Trevor and Tierno were heading up the path behind them. Storm remembered seeing them in Santalune Forest but hadn’t realized that they had passed them. Rustling in the bushes caught the girl’s attention.

A pair of eyes was watching her intently from the shadows. She locked eyes with whatever was watching her and seemed to be pulled into a trance of some kind. It was almost as if the world around her didn’t exist.

Shauna’s voice snapped her out of her dreamlike state.

“What do you say Sensoji?” Shauna gushed excitedly.

“Uh… what?” Storm replied, tearing her gaze away from the eyes. Shauna pouted and crossed her arms while it was pretty clear that Trevor and Tierno thought it was a little funny. Calem, as perusal wasn’t impressed with her lack of concentration.

“I said that we should all leave Santalune Forest together!” Shauna whined. Shaking her head at the girl, Storm sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. She sent a quick glance into the bushes only to find that the eyes had disappeared.

“Okay, fine we’ll leave this forest together.” Storm groaned. All she wanted to do was get to Santalune City and get some sleep. Her Pokémon friends also needed to sleep and if it meant that she could get out of this forest then she would go along with Shauna’s idea.

The five of them stepped out of the forest and… onto another route. Route 2 had a clear path between the patches of long grass, but there were also a few trainers.

Scanning he route to try and find the best way to Santaune City wasn’t hard. It was clear that there were two trainers ahead of her that Storm had no choice but to battle. However, she was a bit concerned by the fact that they were kids.

Calem set off towards Santalune City, and Shauna was asking someone what they planned to do. Yawning loudly, Storm set off in the direction of Santalune City, completely ignoring her friends and just wanting to get the battles that lay ahead of her over and done with.

Jessie’s POV

Jessie stretched and his jaws split into a yawn. The small fox Pokémon was exhausted. Today had been the most fun that he’d ever had and he couldn’t wait for more adventures. His Trainer started to walk down a hall in the building that she had called a “Pokémon Centre” and he followed at her heels.

Getting through Route 2 had been tiring, he’d been involved in two Pokémon battles with extremely young Pokémon who had no idea what they were doing. With Yellow helping him by taking down an Azuril he’d managed to help his Trainer win against the kids and their baby Pokémon.

He hadn’t seen much of Santalune City yet, because Storm had taken him straight to the Pokémon Centre. She’d told him when they first arrived that they were going to be spending the night in this place and he wasn’t going to complain.

When they reached a certain room, Storm unlocked the door and let him in. She followed him soon after and went into another room off to the side.

Jessie examined the room and his eyes fell on something that he’d seen before. The Pokémon at the Lab where he’d grown up had called it a bed, they’d also told him that humans slept in them. He padded clumsily over to the bed and leapt onto it.

He sniffed around for a little bit before curling up at one end of the bed. The young fire-type yawned sleepily and closed his eyes. Sleep came to him almost instantly and he fell into a peaceful sleep.

He awoke to the sound of mumbling. Grumbling in annoyance Jessie opened his eyes and looked over in the direction of the mumbling. His eyes fell on his Trainer, she seemed to be talking to someone in her sleep.

His curiosity got the better of him and he clumsily made his way over to her head. As he got closer it became apparent to him that she wasn’t having the best dream in the world.

“Ugh… Serperior, use leaf blade…” she mumbled in her sleep. Jessie tipped his head to the side in confusion.

“Who’s Serperior?” he asked himself. He’d never heard of this Pokémon and was curious as to why his Trainer seemed to know whoever this Serperior was.

“… Watchog… can’t beat Serperior…” she mumbled. This made Jessie a bit more concerned. He’d never heard of Watchog either. His Trainer continued to babble on about battling with this mysterious Serperior and then stopped talking.

Jessie remained by her head for a bit longer, he was concerned for his partner and refused to leave her side until he was sure that she wasn’t going to start talking again. When she stayed quiet for another five minutes, the young Pokémon went back to the foot of the bed and headed back to sleep.

Storm’s POV

Another restless night had plagued the girls mind with hazy dreams. As she sat at a table outside a café, with a glass of Water and an empty plate in front of her she let her mind wander back to the dream.

She remembered being with the Serperior again and the purple haired boy being there. If she remembered correctly she was going to challenge him but someone else got in the way and she had to battle them instead while the boy got away.

She looked down at her Pokémon friends. The three of them were sat next to the table, happily eating Pokemon food from the bowls that the café workers had brought out for them. When she saw them, she couldn’t help but smile at them.

“Did you hear about that boy who challenged the Santalune Gym yesterday?” someone said. Although she hated eavesdropping on peoples conversations, the word Gym had caught the girl’s attention.

Two women, who were sat at the table behind her, were talking over coffee about a challenger at the Gym. From the way one of them was talking, it must have been a truly amazing battle. Storm decided to keep listening and waited to hear more information on the challenger and the Gym.

“Yes! I heard that he won only using two Pokémon!” the first woman’s friend replied eagerly.

“That’s right! I heard that he used Fletchling and Litleo!” the first woman told her friend.

“That’s one smart kid! Using a flying-type and a fire-type against the bug-type Pokémon that Viola uses!” her friend exclaimed.

“Yeah, unlike that boy who challenged Viola after him! That boy used a Chespin!” the first woman continued.

Chespin? Against bug-type Pokémon the grass-type wouldn’t stand a chance, unless its Trainer had a lot of spare healing items and the little Pokémon had at least one attack in its move-set that wasn’t grass. Heck even leech seed would be a smart choice for Chespin to have in its move-set when dealing with bug-types!

Glancing over at her Pokémon to see that they were done with their food, Storm got to her feet and returned Water Ship and Yellow to their Pokeballs. If it was bug-types that she was going to face, then Jessie was the best for the job.

“Where are we going?” he whined as she picked him up.

“We’re going to find the Gym. I think that we can handle the challenge.” She told him softly, in order to avoid people giving them strange looks.

“What’s a Gym?” Jessie asked curiously.

“A Gym is a place where Trainers and their Pokémon test their skills. After solving a puzzle and beating the Gym Trainers who challenge them, the Trainers and their Pokémon get to challenge the Gym Leader. If they win against the Gym Leader, then they are rewarded with the Gym’s Badge. The more Badges you have, the more skilled you are. When you win all eight of the regions Badges, you can go through Victory Road and challenge the Elite Four and finally the regions Champion.” She told him as they walked through the streets of Santalune City.

“Whoa… sounds intense!” Jessie yipped.

“It sure is…” Storm replied absently.

After spending about 20 minutes walking aimlessly around the city, they found the Gym. It was unbelievable that they had missed it, since it was a pretty fancy building. It was covered in gold as well so it wasn’t very hard to miss.

Taking a deep breath, Storm pushed open the door and felt a hauntingly familiar rush of anticipation. It was a foreign feeling but at the same time it was as if she’d been in the same situation many times before.

Spotting a pole that lead down into the Gym, Storm returned Jessie to his Pokeball. She grabbed the pole and clumsily slid down to the rest of the Gym only to land, er… almost fall, off a GIANT SPIDER WEB!

Now, Storm usually didn’t mind bug-types, but if anything involving a spider Pokémon appeared, it was bad news. She let out a frightened squeak and began racing along the thickest strands of the web that she could find in her panic.

“HEY! STOP RIGHT THERE!” a voice called out, bringing her to an abrupt halt. A boy on a platform was glaring at her fiercely and clutching a pokeball in one hand.

“You’re gonna have to fight me, if you want to face Viola!” he cried. He threw the Pokeball and a Ledyba appeared.

“Jessie, come on buddy!” Storm cried, sending the small fox Pokémon out. Jessie glared at the Ledyba for a second and looked back at his Trainer.

“Jessie, use ember! Let’s deal with this quickly!” Storm told him. Nodding in understanding, Jessie launched an ember attack at the Ledyba.

The bug-type didn’t stand a chance! As soon as it saw the flames it tried to escape but didn’t get very far in its panicked state. It fainted instantly, leaving the bot gobsmacked at what had happened.

Smiling happily, Storm returned Jessie to his Pokeball, not wanting him to fall off the web and continued to make her way through the Gym.

Meep... I really don't even know what to say about this except there are mentions of characters who will show up later. Oh and the Serperior? She's kinda important.
